Cross Country LESSONS for 2017 Here at Cheshire Riding School we can’t wait for the warmer weather and dry days to come. Spring and Summer means our our horses and riders get to tackle our cross country course. We will be running regular group cross country lessons throughout the spring and summer once per month on a Saturday.
Our cross country course covers several acres of land which has a variety of fences which range in height and width. We have smaller more inviting fences for those just starting out with their cross country riding up to larger fences for our more advanced riders and exam clients. The sessions will work through the gears and their importance before progressing to working over a variety of fences before putting together a course and working on putting all the technical knowledge you have gained in to practice.
Our horses love to cross country school, and we have a range of horses suitable for all experiences of cross country riders.
Private Cross Country Lessons
We will have limited private cross country lessons available throughout the year. These lessons are 45 minutes long and are bookable on a weather permitting basis. These are suitable for those who are just starting out cross country, are slightly more nervous or those training towards their British Horse Society stage 3 and 4 exams.
We also offer our University riders or those wanting to come with a group of friends the opportunity to go cross country together. These sessions will be available mid week and riders must be deemed competent by one of our team of staff. We will offer a discount to our university riders which can be discussed at time of booking.
Cross Country lessons are available to our advanced clients who have a well developed and secure jump seat. All our riders who wish to go cross country are required to under go an assessment lesson with Phillippa prior to booking. Body protectors must be worn along with a non fixed peak hat – these are available in our reception.
