British Horse Society PTT Training Day
We will be holding a British Horse Society Preliminary Teaching training day on Wednesday 30th November. The day will be taken by our Chief Instructor Phillippa Founds BHSII, BSc Hons, UKCCL3 coach, TAQA L3 assessor. Phillippa has been training PTT students for over 10 years and has a 100% pass rate. Phillippa is up to date with the coaching elements of the exam, lesson planning and all the health and safety aspects which need to be taken in to consideration.
The he day will run from 9 am until 2pm and will cover lesson planning, group jump and flat lessons. There will be riders available to ride and suitable exam horses will be used for the sessions. During the group lessons attendees will all have the opportunity to teach, and will gain constructive but encouraging feedback throughout. The aim will be to work from a lesson plan and ensure the correct coaching and teaching technique is used in order to promote improvement in the horses and riders used.
We will also look at the lead rein and lunge lessons. We will discuss suitable exercises to be used to show improvement in both the beginner and improver riders. There will be an opportunity for attendees to either coach a lead rein lesson or a lunge lesson. Feedback will be given throughout and there will be group discussions to promote involvement and bounce ideas off each other.
The day will involve all attendees and will aim to encourage and improve confidence in the coaches style. There will be chance throughout to ask questions regarding portfolio building and the lecture subjects.
The he day is advanced booking only and full payment is required on booking. The cost of the day is £90 and attendees should come dressed for coaching and dealing with horses. A pen and paper will be required and for those who have already completed their lesson plans these should be brought along for Phillippa to read and make adjustments as required.
