BHS STAGE ONE INSTENSIVE MORNINGS
Our BHS Stage One intensive morning consists of one hours group riding to practice riding as a group and completing the exercises you will carry out as part of your assessment. As part of the riding you will get the opportunity to ride two different horses and work without your stirrups and over poles.
BHS Stage 1 Care will provide you with an understanding of the responsibilities of working safely on a stable yard with empathy towards both horses and colleagues.
The award assesses your knowledge and practical skills when carrying out routine tasks, such as mucking out, bedding down and providing food and water. You will be asked to handle horses inside the stable and outdoors, apply and remove rugs, groom, lead a horse in hand and hold a horse for inspection.
