We are pleased to announce that we will be running our next British Horse Society riding and road safety exam in June 2017 . The riding and road safety certificate is a pre requisite for the BHS Stage Two exam and this course will enable enough time for those wanting to book on to our Stage Two exam in July.

The exam will run throughout the day and consist of the three units which candidates are required to pass in order to gain their riding and road safety certificate.

We have a training course available which is recommended by riding and road safety examiners and trainers to ensure that those taking the exam have both the knowledge and the experience to enable them to not only pass the exam,  but to go on and ride safely on the roads.

Our training will take place over 4 weeks and is taken by our riding and road safety trainer Janet Lomax who has a 100% pass rate for her previous exams. Our training dates are as follows:

Friday 5th May 5.30 pm – 8 pm

Friday 12th May 5.30 pm – 8 pm

Friday 19th May 5.30 pm – 8 pm

Friday 26th May 5.30 pm – 8 pm

EXAM will take place on Friday 2nd June during the day.

The British Horse Society provides road safety training for horse riders and operates a Riding & Road Safety Test, which over 4,000 riders take each year. RoSPA recommends that all riders should undertake road safety training, if possible before riding on the road, and take the BHS Test Here, you can find further details on road safety training for horse riders.

It is not essential to own a horse in order to take the test, as many riding schools and centres organise them for their pupils. Similarly, you do not have to attend a centre in order to take the training and the test. Although the published dates refer mainly to tests being held at centres, if a group of ten or more people can get together, many trainers and assessors are happy, subject to a satisfactory BHS Riding and Road Safety risk assessment being carried out, to come to them.

Candidates do not have to be BHS members.
