At Cheshire Riding School we hold regular training and exams for those training towards their Stage 4 Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship (II) Along with our weekly group training sessions we offer intensive days or packages for those wanting to focus on a particular area. As a BHS exam centre we have continued to receive A+ feedback from visiting examiners and also exam candidates for our horses and facilities. We have designated exam trainers who have excellent pass rates, gained by their own continued training along with their dedication to their learners.
Training
The riding part of the course is open to our riders who can canter. The session will help to improve the riders position using a range of exercises to include work without stirrups and poles. Riders will ride a range of horses to help improve their riding ability, and skill range.
The sessions can be booked as a two hour session, or for those who want to just focus on either the stable management or the riding separate sessions are available.
Our stage 2 stable management is at 2pm and covers the stage two syllabus on a rolling basis. The sessions are split between practical and theory sessions which will aim to increase your confidence and knowledge which is required for the industry. During the sessions you will work around plenty of different horses and use a variety of equipment. The correct lungeing procedure will be covered with the chance for all trainees to lunge made available.
The stable management sessions cover the practical and theoretical parts of the stable management assessment. There will be opportunities to lunge and to fit the range of tack required for this level of assessment.
Stage Four Teach/ITT training available on request. If you have a specific area, aim or just an exam or training question
give us a call and we will try to assist in answering your query.

Cheshire Riding School is long established and started in 1999 and has been based at Brookhouse Equestrian Centre since 2005. The CRS ethos from day one has been to provide an enjoyable, friendly, safe leisure environment for its customers with excellent facilities and superb horses and ponies.
Cheshire Riding School is very lucky to be based at such a scenic location in the beautiful cheshire countryside. Undulating dry land, ancient woodland, stream, all weather farm ride, superb riding and livery facilities make Cheshire Riding School amazing for everyone to enjoy.
Andrea and Ian first discovered Brookhouse farm, a former dairy farm, when we were looking to relocate from the original base at Arley. The farm was in a very run down state when it was found and it has taken many years of effort and investment to create the centre we have now. We have previously displayed “before and after” pictures at open days and events of how the centre was created.
Our superb team of staff are seeking to help us become the best riding school in the country. Cheshire Riding School has won a number of accolades already and is very highly regarded by the BHS, ABRS, Pony Club and other equine bodies. Cheshire Riding School is a BHS accredited exam centre up to and including level 4. We have been chosen as base for three BBC TV programmes, a channel 5 programme, a visit from ITV, won safety awards and many compliments from regulatory and licensing bodies on how well the yard is run and our horses are cared for. CRS has consistently been rated highly commended in every category in BHS annual inspections.
