Pony Club Outing to Manchester Police Horses.

We are excited to announce that we have kindly been offered the chance to visit Manchester Police horses. The visit a available to our pony club members and is a one off opportunity. The visit takes place on Tuesday 27th October when we will meet at the Manchester stables in preparation for the visit. The visit will last around ninety minutes and starts at 6pm.

During our time there we will be escorted round by Claire who is a mounted police officer. Claire has kindly offered for us to meet the horses, look at their environment and discuss their training. The training of police horses is second to non, and is vital to the safety of their riders, themselves and also the general public. Police horses are used in very demanding situations so it will be beneficial and educational for our pony club members to look at the size, types and behaviour of the horses used.
We will hopefully get to look at the tack they are ridden in, and some of the schooling/ training they receive. Claire will be available to answer the questions are members have, and is extremely friendly and approachable. Our members will be taken care of and supervised throughout by Phillippa and Erin who will also be attending. It maybe possible for members to lift share, which we can discuss closer to the time.

The visit must be booked at reception and a consent form completed prior to the trip. Members attending must wear their pony club uniform.
